"Are not flowers the stars of the Earth?" - Clara Lucas Balfour
I photographed this series devoted to flowers during the Pandemic while living in the South of France in 2021/22. It was a dark time for the world. In an effort to seek joy and peace, I found myself drawn to nature, particularly flowers. Flowers have an uplifting, healing energy and have always been symbol of beauty. By being based in Europe, I was able to capture the tulip bloom in Holland, followed by the lavender bloom in Provence, ending with the sunflowers in Tuscany. It is my most colorful work to date. My intention with this series is to bring joy, lightness and healing into the spaces wherever these pieces find a home.
